These United States- Sticks It Again With Crimes

By: GenHopefully these next few paragraphs won’t be any new to the ears of my faithful followers. These United States is certainly no newcomer to performing in Lex – and that won’t change any time soon.
While not all the members are Lexington natives, this is still a band that Lexington can claim as one of their own. These United States came onto my radar about a year and a half ago thanks to the song Kings & Aces off their debut album Picture Of The Three Of Us At The Gate To The Garden Of Eden (or ‘POT TOUS AT GTT GOE’ for short). I can’t tell you how many times that song has been played since.
Once I finally weaned myself off the addiction to Kings & Aces itself, I started to appreciate the full album. To be honest, every time I listened to it I couldn’t believe that this was a debut album. It was packed with solid songs: songs to rock out to, some to zone out to, some to just enjoy. All and all, if you can’t already tell, it was a favorite. And, still gets play on my soundtrack.
The fear of every great debut is the let down associated with the sophomore slump. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait long to find out what These United States had in store for us. Coming out just a short time later – Crimes proved that These United States’ first release was no drop in the bucket. This band is going to be with us for quite some time. Crimes echoed what I loved on the first album, and gave me great hope for this band’s future.
So, my fellow Busterians…Busterites…Bustertonians…Buster BB’s, come out to Buster’s Billiards & Backroom’s September 4th Grand Opening and support Lexington’s newest venue with some local bands making a big splash on the national scene.
